What is mindfulness?
It's simply present-moment awareness. Techniques, exercises and practice are designed to

1. stimulate
2. facilitate
3. increase our capacity to be present and aware.

Last night I did the introduction to mindfulness. It was the first of 4 classes.

What I mostly learned was that the present is not always pleasant.
Our task is to notice what is going on, to feel the pain,
We become aware of how we have a huge range of options to how we respond.

Difficult situations are unavoidable.

With mindful attention we realise that this IS the way things are, good or bad.

Our homework is to do a body scan every day for 12 minutes and to notice and observe what happens.

I am looking forward to my next class!
